I have been soooo lucky with fall weather this year!  The sun seems to be following me around and making me smile!  I definitely can't complain about that :) 

Clint and Kandis are friends of mine, so I am super excited to be able to photograph their engagement along with their wedding next summer.  They have a cute little man, Gage, who doesn't want anything to do with having his photo taken!  You can't tell by the photos below.....which is a result of me running around making a fool out of myself!  Oh well....what's a girl going to do? 

We met at The Shack Country Inn in White Cloud, MI and walked around their beautiful property looking for neat places to stop.  We started with some family photos....but those didn't last long, then finished with engagement pics!  I am in LOVE with the results!

 

Joe & Libby are such a sweet couple!  I was so excited when I found their location for their engagement session.  It had everything that I love about locations.....lots of color, texture, fun backdrops, etc.  I was even more excited when Libby showed up in her cute, mustard yellow dress.  It fit the scene perfectly!  The weather even made it better!!  I have been so lucky this fall with these gorgeous days filled with warmth and sunshine!  I am just loving it!!  Next summer, Joe & Libby will be getting married in gorgeous Traverse City....and I cannot wait to photograph their special day!

I don't even know where to start with these two!  They are one of my all time favorite couples!  They are sweet, genuine, kind and happy!  Just great people to be around!  I met Alyssia and Ian this summer at Sean & Lauren's wedding.....where they both were in the wedding party!  We hit it off instantly and are now so excited to be photographing their wedding in Lansing in 2013!  (yes....we are already booking in 2013!) 

Not only are they one of my favorite couples....but we were able to shoot at my favorite location!  My grandpa's farm!!  I had no idea that it would be such an amazing place...until I showed up with my camera and this gorgeous couple!  I am thrilled with the results and hope you enjoy them too!! 

(thankfully the weather was perfect...because we only had this one Saturday to use.  It was the only day that Ian agreed to since U of M didn't have a football game!  haha :)  Men and their football.........  )

 

We met on a cold, windy, dreary fall day.....but Kyle and Lisa were up for anything!  They only get to see one another every couple of weekends because they live in different states, but hopefully that will change soon after their wedding!  I just absolutely love this location.....the old barn, the pretty trees, lots of fields.....heaven!

Kyle and Alison are so sweet, so easy going and so perfect for each other!  They live far apart, so it made our time together extra special....and extra easy for those cuddling pics :)  They will be getting married this winter in Muskegon....and I am so excited to be able to photograph their day!  I cannot wait to see Alison in her wedding dress....she will make a beautiful bride!  Only a couple more months!!!

 

This has to be one of my favorite engagement sessions ever!  I love the setting, the amazing lighting, the gorgeous couple, their outfits....everything!  We wandered around downtown Grand Rapids for the afternoon and found so many perfect places to use for their photos.  I go downtown often, so I am always looking for new areas to shoot so that all of my sessions look different!  We had to stray away from the main area of downtown b/c there were so many people due to ArtPrize!  It is a fun event, but not very helpful to me during an engagement session :)

Corey & Adriana are planning their beautiful August wedding from Chicago and we cannot wait to photograph it!  Enjoy a preview of their pics!!

 

Michael and Andriea are the sweetest couple!  They love the Lions and their cute little dog YJ....so of course we had to incorporate them into the session!  When photographing pets, I always seem to be barking, meowing, chirping or making any other weird noises to keep their attention.  This shoot was no different :)  We had beautiful weather and even some color from the fall leaves!  We are beyond excited to be photographing their wedding next year! 

Michael and Ashley are such a sweet couple!  Their love story began in high school and the time has come to where they will finally be husband and wife!  It is so much fun to look back to those days....  Ashley was my first paid senior session and I can remember her talking about Michael then!  Time sure does fly and so will the next few months before their spring wedding!  I cannot wait to be there to watch and photograph their special day!  Congrats you two!  I hope you love these images as much as I do (yummy light....!!).

 

I met up with Rob and Christine, and our new assistant Terra, on a gorgeous late summer evening!  It was a little warm, but not too hot, and the sun was nice and bright!  We wandered around Rob's family apple orchards, which was beautiful!  This orchard was one of the prettiest that I have had the opportunity to shoot in.  It was nice and clean and the apples were full in the trees!  I always wonder how that tree can hold so many apples .....

We are looking forward to photographing Rob and Christine's wedding this fall!  Keep an eye out for their wedding day blog post!

Tom and Trina are such a sweet couple.  After conflicting schedules, we finally were able to get together to photograph their engagement photos!  The temps were rising and the air was steamy, but we toughed it out and made the best of it!  We are so excited for their wedding this weekend!  Trina will be a beautiful bride and Tom a handsome groom!  Keep checking back for their wedding preview!!

Joe and Sarah....what can I say about these two?  Well...to start...they are hilarious!  (you will be able to see this by their photos below)  Sarah is a good friend from high school, so when I found out she was engaged, and that she wanted me to take photos for them, I was beyond excited!  Sarah and I started throwing around ideas for engagement pics, and we ended up deciding on photos at the carnival!  It was so much fun going from booth to ride, dodging the lightning and getting ripped off by some of the carnival workers (sorry Sarah....)!  Enjoy their previews below!!

 

Jacob and Amber are such a sweet couple.  They have so much fun and are so comfortable with one another.....they are totally in LOVE :)  We had a beautiful evening that allowed us to wander around their home-to-be and take lots of fun, country-style photos!  These two fit right into the country scene...especially with Amber's cute cowgirl boots!!

Jerid & Michelle are such a sweet couple!  I have known them for years, so it is always nice catching up over one of our fun photo sessions!  They have an adorable daughter named Brooklynn who I cannot wait to see at their upcoming wedding.  She will be so cute in her dress :) 

For their engagement session, we wandered around a local nursery, which ended up being a gorgeous backdrop for their pics!  Afterwards, we headed to one of my favorite barn/field spots!

I had so much fun with these two.  The weather was beautiful, the beach was calm and Tyler & Erica were so in love!  What a perfect combination.  Beach photos haven't been my favorites in the past due to their lighting difficulty and the heat stroke that comes with the sun.....but this year I am learning more and more, trying to make all situations work for me!  I can finally say that the beach worked for me!  I love so many of these photos, but just had to choose a few favorites.  I hope you enjoy!

Nick and Katie were so much fun to work with!  It was a hot spring day.......and even after being eaten alive by mosquitoes, we still ended up with some great shots!  They were such good sports, hopping in the car, stopping at random locations - which meant totally trusting me :)  Even wandering onto a nice private little lake - where there were spiders....big, gross ones!!!
