Chris and Lindsey are such a great couple!  They were so much fun and soooo in love!  Their love story began in England, where Chris is from and Lindsey studied abroad.  Chris just arrived to the U.S. for their wedding next weekend, which explains the late engagement shoot.  We were so glad to be able to meet with them and meet Chris before the big day next weekend!  Their wedding is going to be beautiful and we cannot wait to photograph it!!  Check back in a week or so for a preview of their wedding day!

Cute little Gideon was born on February 4, weighing in at 6 lbs and 15 oz!  He is bigger now, but even cuter!  I love sleeping photos of newborn babies, but Gideon was determined to not fall asleep.  His big eyes studied me and everything in the room during the entire photo shoot.....he is such a happy baby! Sarah & Brandon-you are so lucky!  You have such a gorgeous family!!

Joe and I had an amazing time in Florida!  From Disney to the Daytona 500....we were able to see and do everything!  We love to travel!  We even had the chance to see greyhound races (we have a grey named Roxy), drive through the Everglades looking for gators, try lots of new restaurants, watch the Dayton 500 in person (Joe even got to ride along in one of the race cars).....ahh...there is just too much to mention!  Take a look at the pics below to see how much fun we had!!

We finally had the chance to relax and re-group.......so now we are ready for our biggest wedding season yet!  17 weddings and counting!  We look forward to working with every single one of you this year!

One final stop to CA for a wedding and mini-vacay!  Can't wait!

 

Born just before we left on vacation, was our little nephew, Gideon Michael.  He is so sweet and so adorable.  I am sure that you will see many more appearances on our blog from this little guy!

Sorry we have been MIA for a few weeks now..........so much to blog.....so little time!  We will be updating our blog with vacation pics, photos of our new nephew Gideon as well as his newborn portraits soon!

Just an FYI............Joe and I will be heading off tomorrow to Florida for two wonderful weeks of blissful fun!  We will return on the 20th with our next bridal show on the 21st at the Dogwood Center in Fremont (1-4).........which then will throw us right into wedding season!

A few of our stops will be: the Daytona 500 (Joe is going to ride in a racecar), Disney World, Gatorland, and lots of restaurants from Man v. Food that we are dying to try out!

Aiden & Ashton are such an adorable set of twins!  You may remember them from their newborn shoot a couple of months ago.  They have gotten sooo big since then!  Their big brother Preston is so proud of his little brothers and can't wait to play with them when they get bigger!  I have a feeling that their mother, Monique, is going to have her hands full!  It will be so fun to watch them grow and capture moments in their lives along the way!

I was so excited to finally be able to meet Ken & Holly.  Holly and I have been talking via email over the past few months about weddings details, etc.....and yesterday we finally had the chance to meet up.  Holly and Ken feel like long lost friends....which made the conversation easy, the posing easy, and the natural reactions easy!  I loved it!  It was cold, but not too cold....  We walked around downtown Grand Rapids and found many great spots!  Holly's laugh is so contagious....she lights up the room.....which is easy to see in Ken's eyes when she walks in.  I see a bright future and beautiful wedding for this couple!  We cannot wait to photograph their October wedding this year!  It will be amazing!

This past weekend, Josh & Katie met us in downtown GR for a verrrryyy cold engagement shoot!  These two are so cute together and so in love!  It is great to see a couple so happy :)  Katie is studying photography in college, so I cannot wait to hear what she thinks about the photos!  Katie is going to make a beautiful bride and Josh will be a dashing groom.....and together, they will make the perfect couple (like the one on top of the cake). :)

On a super cold winter afternoon I met with Sarah & Brandon at a local apple orchard.  Normally a photo shoot takes 1+ hours...........but this one ended up being a little different.  We decided to make the most of the freezing cold day...but about 20 minutes into the shoot, we ran back to the warm house (hoping to save our fingers and toes from frostbite....ok....I may be going a little overboard).  Sarah & Brandon were so brave running from location to location pretending to be in some warm, tropical part of the world.  I think that we ended up with some great shots even though our time was cut short!

Sarah is the most beautiful pregnant woman that I have ever seen....(can you believe that she is about 8 months here???????)!  They are going to have one good-lookin' kid!

Yes, I am having a secret affair......don't tell my husband ;)  His name is 5D Mark II....I just like to call him Mark... :)

I walked into the house and shrieked with delight like a 5 year old girl in a polka dotted dress....looking at the mile long gumball machine in front of her!!  My new equipment had finally arrived!!  Just in time for my engagement shoot tomorrow!  I had dreamed of this day since the first moment I dreamed of becoming a photographer.  And, finally, the day has come.  I feel like running outside and taking pics of everything in site!!  Watch out 2010 clients.....there are going to be tons of AMAZING photos coming your way!!!!

 

 

I love everything about photographing the lives of everyone around me.  From the planning of the photo shoot to receiving the final product in the mail......I LOVE it!  Seeing how excited a bride is for her big day or a little girl turning one, when I can remember taking photos of her mother when she was still in her belly :)  Life is precious......and it is so important to remember it!

I have learned so much this year and cannot wait to learn even more in the years to come! If God gives you a gift.... just go with it!  Wonderful things will happen!

Today is my birthday....again.......am somehow I am the luckiest girl in the world!!  First, my amazing husband set up a birthday dinner for me last weekend with my family and friends and gave me the gorgeous necklace below!!!  Today he took me out to a delicious lunch at Moondance Cafe, then surprised me with the amazing pink roses below and super funny "The Office" birthday card!  I LOVE him so much!!!!!

Yesterday was a fun-filled, frostbite kinda shoot!!  Kaity decided that she would like her senior portraits taken in downtown Grand Rapids (one of my fave places to shoot :) ).  We bundled up...well at least Kaity's mom and I did....and we braved the 20 degree weather for some gorgeous photos!  Kaity looks amazing in every photo, so I don't know how she is ever going to choose one for the yearbook! 

We started off in front of TGI Fridays, then walked around several city blocks, finding every interesting location that we could see.  We even managed to snap a few shots inside the Amway Grand Plaza....and to thaw out for a few minutes.  Sunday morning is a great time to wander around downtown b/c there is hardly anyone there!  I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some unique photos...the locations are endless!!

Kaity-thanks for being so fun to work with, even in the freezing temperatures!  I hope you LOVE your photos!!!
